A LOCAL STRATEGY FUNDED THROUGH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION.
Welcome to the Omaha Weed & Seed website.  
Weed & Seed is a federal program through the U.S. Department of Justice Community Capacity Development Office.  Omaha Weed & Seed brings together diverse representatives from local government, community agencies, and area residents to form a Steering Committee.  This Steering Committee guides the development and implementation of a strategy that outlines activities designed to address crime, challenges affecting residents, and physical deterioration of homes and other buildings in the community.
 
Weed & Seed is a strategy that is divided into four components:
 
Law Enforcement
Community Policing
Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment
Neighborhood Restoration
 
Omaha currently has two Weed & Seed sites; Omaha Weed & Seed North and Omaha Weed & Seed South.  We would like to invite you to our steering committee meetings and join us in making a positive difference in our community.
